Anybody heard of RCNC. It is a ISP with concentration in the Boston - Washington corridor. Currently they have 1/2 million customers, but with its recent consolidation of 4 smaller ISPs, it expects increase in membership since they also provide cable access. Any thoughts or comments?

Hello!

After that bandwidth issue, if you recall, (some 2 years ago) AOL managed to get themselves out of the data network services game when they picked up CompuServe. Remember, the 3rd party in that deal WorldCom received the network portion of AOL and CompuServe while AOL kept the content and the membership.

I do think they will manage to get themselves partnered up with someone in the cable business (my guess would be Time Warner) but I couldn't say for sure. I have an outside bet that AOL will manage to buy or merger with a major TV network (CBS?) within the next 2-3 years.

Also, to move to another topic -- AOL is growning their brand internationally by leaps and bounds. They currently have access in many countries (over 100) while developing local ventures such as AOL UK, AOL France, AOL Germany, AOL Japan, AOL Canada and the newly launched AOL Australia.

I don't see AOL slowing down any time soon.
