Platter--reminds me of the semiequipment stocks going into their final lows in early Oct. But in that case, the gorilla AMAT was then flirting with breakeven. In the case of the OS stocks, most still trade at a low multiple on guesstimated earnings. So I think we will not see a bottom until this qtr's eps nosedives are out of the way.

I think HAl will drop sharply in early trading tomorrow, but could recover much of its loss by the close. The impact on other OS firms may not be too bad by day's end. Most of them are down much more than HAL and have discounted everything short of bankruptcy. In fact HAL has been the strongest OS stock -- up over 25% from its low at today's close. I suspect this largely reflects merger speculation rather than bullish near-term earnings expectations.
