Hmm... I'll have to think about what you've said. I've used similar methods to Charles' to evaluate money flow, but the one I use most often is to take the daily total volume times the average of the daily hi/lo price (and divide by two if it's a NASDAQ stock). This is not an exact method, but it does produce quick and reasonable answers at no cost.

At the end of the day someone is left holding the shares. Using Charles' valuation methods, someone is holding that market cap. So from his perspective, the market cap increase... Ah, the light bulb just clicked on in my pumpkin head and I see your point...

Rightly or wrongly calculated, it still doesn't make it any less worrisome.

Thanks for the correction Antoine,

I was wrong in assuming that the change in market cap reflects net money flows...
