Maverick, I called S&P, and got a recorded message from the analyst. He never returned my call. Someone called before me, because the operator thought I was that person calling again. I don't know if they got the same response I did. I also have e-mail sent to an S&P service that claims it will answer within two days.

Did you pick up on this beauty of a statement:

"Hydrogen production occurs at a temperature of some 280 °C. Methanol and water vaporize to yield hydrogen (H), carbon dioxide (CO2), and carbon monoxide (CO)."

280 degrees C is equivalent to: 536 degrees F

How would you like to hit this mother when it's cooking gas.

People don't understand that it takes added energy and release of energy to transform a substance from a steady state into another steady state. Methanol will not just transform itself and release its hydrogen just because we would like it to. The temperatures are high, but I wonder how much energy is really lost (on a total system basis) with all this processing from one state to another.

OCP just simply helps complete the combustion process and use the applied energy more efficiently as nature intended.
