r. edwards - In your enthusiasm, you may have mis-quoted John Folger in your recent post regarding RDIM membership fees being reduced to $50.

Conversation on the membership fee:
Someone on the conf call mentioned that Sams and Costo charge $50, and was RDIM considering lowering their membership fees to attract a broader market.

John was very clear that wholesale clubs fall into two distinct market segments:
1) the bulk buying clubs; overstocks, slightly flawed, highly discounted merchandise and
2) the members only name brand clubs; first quality merchandise for everyday items such as furniture, appliances, clothes, accessories, cars, etc. (number 2 is the RDIM segment).

Remember -- the market is already there. The clubs already exist. The members are already paying. As RDIM consolidates existing businesses into e-commerce, they may find that fees differ and they would like to establish a single RDIM membership fee -- this is still a work in progress. Quoting John, "we are working the numbers".

And remember -- new members will join and pay the fee (whatever it is) for the sole purpose of SPENDING MONEY.

Hope this helps clarify a little. I'd be surprised if the RDIM membership fee was $50.

I agree it wasn't an important conference call. Nor am I concerned that a couple of officers were missing.

However, it is premature to predict the profits until you have made the acquisitions.

As far as the EPS, what makes you think the share count will be at 13.5M by year end? With the acquisitons they plan, it will certainly be much higher.

So far, it is all plan. People will change their tune once a deal closes.
