I can hardly understand what on Planet Earth this article is trying to say, since the flow of the the writing just takes way too many turns.

Plus, the headline is inaccurate: "Three years ago: Intel's MMX extensions blunder." Apparently the writer forgot that MMX was introduced during the 1997 Super Bowl, i.e. January. That was two years ago, not three.

Combine this with The Register's reputation for being blatantly anti-Intel, and the lack of journalistic quality in that article becomes obvious.
