Intel must be damn proud of the MMX innovation. It is a useless "colon" that is sticking out of every CPU. That "colon" carries Intel trademark of "most stupid innovation of the century". Intel cheated consumers of the MMX. Let's see if they can do it again with the MMX-II.

Wait till the Q4 earnings. We'll see if AMD fish is really dead or pretending to be dead.

Paul,

Within 9 months, only MMX-enabled CPUs were selling.

How many times can you cry wolf and get away with it? Intel also thought they could kill off AMD with slot 1, but instead all they did was price themselves out of the retail market.

Intel FUD is not as powerful a force as it used to be. It is going to be a tough self for Intel to convince consumers that they need any more of Intel's proprietary features.

Paul - RE: "Within 9 months, only MMX-enabled CPUs were selling."

Changing the subject again, I see. I was talking about MMX while you went off on a tangent and decided to talk about the processors.

Within less than 9 months, only 3D Now!-enabled CPUs will be sold.

"All major 2D graphics packages now incorporate MMX enhancements."

I tried searching for a list of MMX enhanced software at Intel's site but couldn't find one. I can only think of programs made by Adobe. Can you name a few others?

"AMD's stock is like a dead fish - just floating around."

Then why do you own it?
