Jim: Re Dell expansion
Here are two press releases on Dell new plants
dell.com
dell.com
BTW shareholders are not only ones surprised by Web stocks
Amzn was ~$130/sh when they announced a 3/1 split, today is $351
Am sure management was not expecting it to be $117/ post split.
What to do, what to do(hehe). Better make it a 6/1 split !
Cmgi was ~$70 when they announced a 2/1, now is $132.
And Yhoo is $175, will need at least a 3/1 to bring it back under $60.
Problems, problems(g)
Sig

Jim,
Hi!!!

RE: How many new factories has DELL opened since September?
I am wondering how much the production capacity has grown

That's a great question...I know so much is on the table and as to when what is being concluded is something that I can't answer...from what I have heard is the new server facility is operating..to what extent I have no idea...the first announced China facility is partially open from what I read somewhere on the thread awhile back..what does excite me was the announcement this summer that Mort believes China will be the #2 market within five years.....the Brazilian facility I believe is under construction...I do know that we met a guy at the Metric tour who was in Austin in an attempt to organize some type of charitable help from Dell with some of the poorer school districts in Brazil...he was very upbeat with Dell's possibilities in Brazil...I wish I knew more...sorry if this hasn't been too much of a help..I can't help adding that when my father saw all the photos of the various sites under construction in Round Rock he studied them for 5-8 minutes and then looked up and replied: "my... what knowledge and confidence Dell must have."

HAPPY NEW YEAR JIM....

Best, Kemble
