Toshiba says to introduce super-slim disk drives Monday December 28 3:21 PM ET TOKYO (Reuters) - Toshiba Corp says it has developed two types of high-capacity 2.5-inch hard disk drives (HDDs) for use in slim portable computers. The 10-gigabyte model is 12.5 mm thick and the 6.4-gigabyte model 8.45 mm thick. Sales of the two new products to personal computer makers at home and abroad will start in January. The domestic selling price will be 120,000 yen for the 10- gigabyte model and 80,000 yen for the 6.4-gigabyte model.
