Hi Bill; Well the small caps have not had any big day in the sun
yet,
and it looks toppy to me, but I don't see the BIG ONE,
or a melt down, until after the small caps have some sort a BIG
push up..granted the NUTZ have caused some of that, but they do
not make up all that much of the market "yet" ..however
I'm sure not on a buying spree ..
Jim

Hi Bill, - Hope everyone is having a good Holiday.
My interim term indicators are also becoming weaker. The consumer held up our economy through Christmas; yet, she will not be able to continue spending much longer. In Europe, spending seems to be continuing its decline, the Brazilian South American situation is still tenuous, and contrary to some press Asia is not recovering. So from my view the global economy has not significantly changed its downward course.
On the positive side Y2k, the Internet, and lower PC prices may continue to hold up the tech sector business spending for awhile longer? However, I'm expecting a significant drop in consumer spending this next quarter.
In my view the basic economic situation has not changed since this summer and fall except we had Christmas. And, the press is overloaded by impeachment and Iraq. The market's rebound has given everyone a false sense of optimism.
Bill, what is your reading on fund cash positions?
