Yeah, in a rational world, splits are to improve liquidity. If one takes a more cynical view, one may notice that splits could also be used to manipulate the share price. Also, if one didn't want to create an excessive mania (too late now, I guess), a more conservative split could be used. If a 4:1 is applied, you'll see Yahoo at $150 in no time. That's what, $600 pre-split? A little high, I think.

Anyway, as was said here before, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
