IMO you are right on trying to spot a trend, but I believe (since I have only worked for big companies) that these large companies will not fully embrace online trading because they do not want to see employees "potentially" lose money while trading stocks. I think they are concerned about being held accountable for any potential losses...The lawyers would have field day if an employee bet half his 401K on EBAY and then a year later it drops 50%...Do I smell lawsuit? (Right or wrong)

Don't get me wrong, I think it is a great idea, but just think business will shy away from it for awhile, but it could happen eventually and probably should...
