Well, Here I am Jane... So glad that you are concerned that I haven't reported in yet... one never knows do they? After all, this transplanted Southern Californian has been driving the Bay Area freeways much too long and has forgotten how to deal with such freeway tangles as the I-5 / I-10 / I-710 / Hwy 60 knot. Lessee... those are the Golden State / Santa Ana (I-5), Santa Monica / San Bernadino (I-10), Long Beach (I-710) and Pomona (Hwy 60) freeways... correct? Going from memory here, so I'm not sure. Thankfully, Paul provided excellent instructions on how to get to DGIV - including the dual name of the exit from the San Diego freeway. :-) Lets see... you are probably interested in some kind of trip report. My time is rather limited on the net (since I am visiting with my mother) and I have already taken up a bit of time with all that freeway talk... so let me get right down to the nitty gritty. I was in the infamous conference room. I made sure that I talked to both Roger Templeton and Jimmy Chin about the furniture in their conference room. The chairs are a black plastic and the table is of the standard all purpose conference type. The chairs were not all that comfortable, but were functional. The table fulfilled its function admirably. Mr. Chin (and Mr. Templeton) were both very concerned about our our perception of their furniture problem and wanted to reassure us that "they are working on it." One of the problems though - the table has some sentimental value... it was one that was used by Mr. Chin when he first started his business(es) in the 80's. It has been with him a long time now and it seems rather heartless to just toss it out on its ear for some new fangled and better appointed model - specially when it is still quite functional. Lazarus, wondering about the naming of Coit Tower - an SF landmark... I thought it was named after a particular person.. so, shouldn't it ne named Coit's Tower? Maybe that's just too close for comfort, though I am sure I will get someonE!s opinion in just 18 more days...
