Re: "in contrast with the (Democrat, sorry, couldn't resist) notion that all retirees are on fixed income eating cat food."

I have no problem with a personal political choice but always wanted to ask a gifted Republican, would it make any difference if there was only one family eating the cat food on fixed income and it happened to be your family?

Oh yea of course a gifted Republican would never ever let that happen to them.

I live in sunny Florida, and the number of seniors here is astounding. Yesterday, drove back from North Carolina to FL. On the road were, perhaps, 50% seniors. The cars they drove indicated quite a bit of wealth.

There are many seniors, and they all buy sundrie goods and many other items. Then there is spending on the grand kids. The almost senior - 45+ group also has significant bucks and most have gotten rid of the kids, etc. and have quite a bit of disposable income.

Does seem like a large market with significant dollars that advertisers would like to get their hands on. Time will tell, but perhaps a CBS strategy of targeting this group and taking a significant lead while the others duke it out for the "attractive?" groups.

Just a thought.
