Victor... I think Colgate had "mean old Mr. Tooth Decay" in their commercials at about that time. He was kind of a cross between the Grinch and the Hamburglar. Say, what ever happened to the Hamburglar??? El

We had the same commercial on this side of the pond, too, Victor.

Did you have the Good and Plenty commercials with Cho Cho Charlie? These were broadcast the same time as the Pepsodent commercials over here.

Cho Cho Charlie was an en-gineer.
Cho Cho Charlie had a train we hear.
He had his engine and he sure had fun.
He used Good 'n Plenty candy
To make his train run.

Charlie says: Love my Good and Plenty.
etc.

We kids used to sing this and the Ipana song.

Despite loving the song, I never cared for Good and Plenty candy.

P.S. I sure wish some of our specialty stores imported McVitie's chocolate chip and hazelnut sweet biscuits [what we call 'cookies']. It would sure speed up my coming through US Customs. Question: Did you bring back any food? Answer: Yes, cookies. Customs person screaming, for _everyone_ to hear: Agriculture!!!
