re: Romantic Multimedia Encounter

Great tete-a-tete! I envy you. Each medium conveys a segment of our total humanity, but visiting together after a good dinner often best stimulates and exhausts the total bandwidths of lovers.

I only hope that teleconferencing will come soon - soon - so that when I am in my hyperbaric teleterminal, totally unzipped and boosted by an 8 cylinder, 16 valve all aluminum Porsche heart-lung machine (pocketa-pocketa - pocketa queep...), that I can converse with my friends, meet my classes, and sail online beyond the sunset, and the baths of all the western stars until I flatline. I much prefer Socrates's exit to Jesus's.

A few years ago, I asked Duke, my lead thoracic surgeon as I was going into what turned out to be a hextupal heart bypass if I could watch. He said "No can do. There will be a you there to be watched, tickled, and experimented on, but there won't be any you there who could watch. Your heart will stop and your brain will cool." I told him not to forget to "Start Me Up! and that I hadn't signed his check yet." Best $200,000 I ever spent. He had earlier explained that the heart-lung machine would pump a slurry of macerated cells trough my brain and I that would suffer myriad microstrokes, costing me up to 20 per cent of my IQ. I asked him if I had to pick up another occupation, if I would retain enough manual dexterity to become a thoracic surgeon. "Will I be able to play the piano?" "Why not?" "I can't play the piano now."
