Better Yet - I got a response from the brokerage house on my whopping 22k buy of GDK at 1 cent. It still shows on brokerage screens as the last trade - It was Thursday. This is the one that has dissappeared

The trader on the floor has informed the discount phone trader who informed me that it was a "SELL - IN ERROR" and was reversed. No big deal - The bid is now 2 cents. So I would have doubled my money - NOT the point.

i made 4 with e*trade and for two of them didn't confirmation for over an hour ( 1:22 min. to be exact ) rest of that around 1/2 hour
for all 4 orders i have to phone in just to find out
what is going out ....
to change from order page to trading password page it takes me anything between 30 sec up to 4 minutes ....
just waiting for the end of the day to write them an e-mail to ask them "what they are doing to improve the situation and when it will be finished" ....
and looks like i will start looking for a different service too .
Hell it is my money what they are playing with , then either they will have a service which can compete or bye bye

Hello Keith,
Wth this kind of delay in executing trades, how do you manage to day trade in Canada? What are the implications of using an American broker that may have faster execution in trading Canadian stocks, with lower commissions. I know that this topic has been discussed here but I do not recall what were the impediments for doing that in Canada. I checked with Revenue Canada and they do not seem to have any problem with this. Suggestions of American brokers that handle Canadian stocks will be greatly appreciated.
Happy trading,
Francois

Put in a stop at 18.10 on CIC after pre-open runup of 18.65 then left to show a "Torontonian" my boat...its for sale. Got back and now see CIC at $13.50 with a scattered support by Levesque Beauboin. It is now at $15.15 but falls to $14.50 level....I think the star is lost some of its polish!!
Thanks to STOPS I am out!!! May be good for entry after the AM tomorrow if it closes down today. It will cause more people to bail out tomorrow AM!!

Kieth, I did on ETRADE this morning and it took forever. I was really angry. I tried to call but the hold was forever. I think this internet trading stuff is still problematic. I also had trouble with SI. Maybe the net was croweded today. Lots of college kids home - like mine - using email to keep in touch.
