Since I know you are the musician of the lot, here is a wine drinking song, often sung at the meetings of the "Chevaliers du Tastevin". (in Burgundy).
This illustrious band of prankish glee club of, mostly old farts, have a singing group called the Cadets de Bourgogne, whose obvious specialty is .... drinking songs. They have a maxim:
"Wine is best for women ----when men drink it"
My apologies ladies, but our barbarian past is clearly evident by the above, (however fun). '~)
Anyway, here is an old song popular among students in the 1700, today it is said is sung after celebration dinners by the group above, (probably after industrial quantities of wines have been properly disposed).
"Chevaliers de la Table Ronde"
(Come you knights of the Table Round) ** translation from French **
Come you knights of the table round and drink a glass of this sunny wine, Come you knights of the table round and Drink a glass of this sunny wine. Drink a glass, aye, aye, aye. Drink a glass, nay, nay, nay, Drink a glass of this sunny wine. Drink a glass, aye, aye, aye, Drink a glass, nay, nay, nay, Drink a glass of this sunny wine.
When I die, then let me buried in a vault full of vintage wine. When I die, then let me buried in a vault full of vintage wine.
In a vault, aye, aye, aye, In a vault, nay, nay, nay, In a vault full of vintage wine.
Let the four biggest drunks around here Carry me to my resting place. Let the four biggest drunks around here Carry me to my resting place.
Carry me aye, aye, aye, Carry me nay, nay, nay, Carry me to my resting place.

I can see some wiggle bars and dots on the paper, but as a musician, I am a good astronaut... so I am no help as to what "tune" do you sing the above.
I recommend, you drink a few glasses of wine, and magic inspiration will come to you. |
