This definitely is a situation Lewis Carroll would have responded to. Do GSM and TDMA really need defending when independent market share data is showing them getting ahead? Doesn't the GSM subscription growth of 157% during 3Q in USA tell us anything? Did the CDMA people ever dispute the claim that TDMA is growing faster in USA than CDMA? I didn't notice. I'd appreciate a link to their response if anyone can provide it.

Both Motorola and Nokia doubled their market share in USA during the first nine months of the year. Samsung and Sony bit dust. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it true that Motorola didn't even have any CDMA models during early 1998 and Nokia only has the 21xx "bricks"? If you put together all these news items - GSM growth, TDMA growth and Nokia/Motorola/Samsung/Sony market share info - what conclusions would an independent observer draw?

We'll see whether you send e-mail with mobile phones in USA after Nokia is through with you, Quincy. The point is that e-mail can be sent to PC's - most voicemail can't.

Quincy -

Ever tried sending an e-mail with a GSM handset? Its a truly fantastic.......gimmick. Drives you crazy without a real QWERTY.
