Compaq has a history of releasing year end results late in January. Although I believe it is usually earlier than the 25th. But with Digital buying Compaq and all I guess I can see why it would take longer to update the books. Oh, I meant Compaq buying Digital.

Dear El: I am a retired audit partner. I can tell you, for a company as large and diverse as CPQ is late January to complete the audit is really pretty good. Remember they have 90 days from year end until the 10K is due. Most publicly held companies will not realease earnings until auditors tell them there will be no significant adjustments coming. Can you imagine the embarrassment and possible legal problems if they released earnings and then had to restate them?? JDN

Earnings Date Hi El, I was randomly surfing financial sites about a month ago and I saw some charts which had a date around the 20-somethings of January. I even posted it to SI Earnings Calendar. BUT, I went back this week to try and find the chart again to doublecheck, guess what, I cannot find the chart with the date anymore... Talk about organized... <g> H
