Missing R in Zins: Rafanelli

But where have they been lately? I haven't seen any of their recent bottlings. Another of my favorites is Mastantuano. On the rare years when I can find it, it is superb. No filters in that winery.

Among the newcomers, I like Rabbit Ridge. They have two R's, so as long as they keep the alcohol above 14%, they can be in the club. Peachy Canyon is also new this decade and has been doing a good job on zins. Their "Incredible Red" blend is often an excellent bargain. I've seen it in restaurants for under $20.

I'll have to try the Rurley...haven't had it for a few years.
