Ish,

Advantage of the .22-250 would be that you can sit back - way back - and do the dirty work from a distance. Which appeals to the cowards among us. Most accurate rifle I ever owned was a Ruger model 77 in .25-06. Took it out of the box, slapped a Redfield 2 1/2 - 7 variable on it, put it on a bench and kept plopping rounds into the same hole. Amazing. Drove the boys with the custom pieces crazy. Would have dealt rather well with a Rottweiler, though I never had occasion to use it on one.

Around here dogs who bite the neighbors meet a quick and dirty fate. About a tablespoon of MSG (that good ol' food additive) rolled up in a ball of hamburger. Death in minutes. Makes you wonder what it does to us.
