I live in Canada, I am trying to recall this story today from memory, I heard that Alberta Disaster Services is down playing problems due to Y2K. They said it will be a series of inconveniences. Something about power plants can me manually switched if computer ones fail.

Sorry, no doom and gloom here.

I think I've finally been able to track down Cory. Seems he works for a major non-LD telecom company as a contractor, and according to my sources, he is indeed held in high esteem by his fellow programmers, etc. I enjoy his sarcasm AND his information. ggg.
