RE:"Pricewatch now lists multiple vendors trying to UNLOAD the 400 MHz
K6-2 for only $179, down $10 since the last price cuts on 12/24/98."

You'll see it stabilize at $155-$165. Then you may see a 450 at $225 just to complete the cycle....

Paul,

AMD must be trying to move these little doggies out of inventory before the quarter is over.

Hopefully to make way for the K6-3 ;^)

That's a 5.5% DROP in only 5 days !

Yes, now every man, woman, and child can afford a K6-2-400MHz. 3DNOW is included for free. To get Katmai you must

a) be rich or super rich
b) wait till February
c) wait till KNI softwares to come out
d) wait till MSFT writes API supporting KNI
e) must take a risk since there is no guarantee of any KNI useful softwares ever be written for the Katmai.

You seem to keep up with AMD pricing at pricewatch more than the rest of the group. Maybe you are the one worrying.

"AMD must be trying to move these little doggies out of inventory before the quarter is over."

In AMD's eyes, the quarter is over. It is just a matter of how many chip sales they want to put in this quarter or move to next quarter.

It is interesting to note that earlier you were predicting that AMD could not build enough 400's and now you're conclusion is that they are building too many!!!

Also the price collapse in the Celerys (from $150 list to $85 street prices)which occured a few weeks ago after you were telling everyone that INTEL was sold out for the 4Q. We haven't heard from you concerning why Intel was forced to do this???

Your facts and conclusions remain so biased as to be laughable.

Kash.
