Michael,
Why is FNTN still referred to as "an internet play."
FNTN business is based on Internet/Intranet, GM not.
EBAY could run their business via TV and phone as well but just like FNTN without Internet it would not be as successful or possible.

Michael: Your point is well-taken as far as FNTN's actual distance from the pure Internet player (ie Yahoo or Ebay). FNTN is a unique creature - and I also agree with you when you say (because) "it's pretty much on its own".."that's why I'm in it."
However, I also believe that there is a good deal of validity in Radim's response to you. Although FNTN is far from a pure Internet player, the perception will outweigh the reality. Additionally, Internet, Intranet and Extranets allow companies to reach well beyond their own towns and countries to seek out business. BAMM is an example of a regional retailer who has utilized the perception of the Internet to dramatically increase share price. They went from about 3 dollars a share to 47 dollars a share on the announcement of an Internet site. Of course, they came back down to Earth, but BAMM is still up in the mid-teens.
As you know all too well, the logic of The Market in general is that it defies logic.
Right now, FNTN is worth somewhere between 50 cents and 50 dollars. By today's standard of measure, I no longer know which number is closest to accurate.
For shear suspense, it sure beats Vegas.

Wally
