Taken from Barrons Wednesday weekday trader column. Many remain bullish on telco equipment stocks, too. Alkesh Shah of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter foresees 16% growth for carrier network equipment, and Dataquest projects that sales of telco gear should top $240 billion worldwide. Overall, he says, "The big will grow bigger." His favorites include Lucent, Nortel, Tellabs, and possibly, Motorola, which appears to be in the midst of a turnaround.
