tom,

there is unrest with the US dollar and the US economy.

alot of smart money has been shorting the US dollar, pior to the launch of the Euro next week, also Japan indicated that they are cuting back on US long bond purchases next year by 40B US. if you remember japan starting selling US long bonds by the basket load's in the summer of 1987 before the crash.

(DAYTRADER) A look at what is moving on the Internet today and why?: G-III Apparel Group (GIII 9 5/8 +7 1/2) has rallied 353% today as traders have bid the stock up in sympathy with Active Apparel Group (AAGP 18 5/8 +7 1/8), which rocketed more than 1000% yesterday after launching its Web site. While G-III already has a site, we wouldn't exactly call it bustling. A look at www.g3leather.com reveals that the site is under renovation, as the company updates it "with the latest line." Also benefitting from recent interest in online apparel retailers is mail order catalog concern, Spiegel Inc (SPGLA 8 5/8 +3 18). The stock has rallied 57% today and is up 89% over the past two trading sessions. Unlike most of the e-jokers (excuse us, e-tailers) that have being throwing out press releases of late, www.spiegel.com is actually a well-designed, functional site. Also spinning the Internet roulette wheel today is Multimedia Games (MGAM 7 3/4 +1 78), which has announced plans to offer "high-stakes" bingo games over the Internet. One catch: bingo enthusiasts in the United States will not be allowed to participate. Our loss. And, based on the surge in shares of Bikers Dream (BIKR 5 1/32 +2 15/32), motorcycle parts and apparel will be the next hot Internet sellers. BIKR shares have doubled since yesterday.
