Brian, an interesting interview and also a nice summary of the future of computing and Oracle's role. Also a little interesting comment re:"....really will allow what Bill says he wants, the opportunity to innovate...."

I could never quite figure out why Bill Gates ever rambled on about the freedom to create, innovate.... and pursue the American dream...". Who would ever disagree or argue the point? The real argument is to continually maintain and foster a marketplace/environment where the freedom to create and innovate are not being stifled or dictated by the MSFT's of the world. As for all the wealth and jobs(GDP) created and fostered by MSFT. Great! But how many MORE could have been created? Or how much quicker could the rate of technological/product cycle development been sped up? How much less bug riddled software could we have had?........Just my $.02 of course

John

P.S. What would the GDP of the U.S. economy be today if a single person/company had controlled the Well, Refining, and Distribution of Oil/Gasoline? Certainly a lot less! The keys to the vault need to be more widely distributed.
