Each window will register as a "page view" for every page you bring up. Every time you click a link to reach "the next level" in a subject tree, you generate a page view. That's why most portals (deliberately) take 4-6 levels to actually reach useful content -

..the higher the page view number, the higher they can keep CPM on their ad rates.
