I don't know who that clown at Intel is that said MS release a patch that allows NT to use KNI, but he certainly wasn't talking about NT 4.0 (maybe he was referring to Win 2000?).. NT 4.0 only supports DX3 and the kernel mode stuff is now locked down, ONLY to be opened for bug fixes.. (DX is kernel mode on NT).. for more information check out the DX site at MS.. somewhere there (too lazy now) they go into a long explanation of why DX 3 is the last DX for NT which says casically what I mentioned above.
