Manzi (and others) didn't think that windoz (is was back then) would win over the convience and speed of DOS (also, M$ does (or did) have a history of holding back info from competitors.

There was a lot of time (years!) between Windows and 'Office'. The software was sold individually for a long time before the 'suite' packaging became standard.

Almost as funny as Window 1.0 :-)

Anyway, if anything, this demonstrates how being first does not guarantee being number 1.
