If on the other hand the President had committed obvious acts of treason or acted as Nixon did to use the system to abuse the system, I'd be first in line to pull him down. jg: Yes we can agree to disagree on this matter. I believe the 'truth will out' in the long run and from the material and several books I've read about Clinton, both by authors from the left and right, he will endure far more wearisome trials and tribulations than he's now experiencing. I'm also certain that you and many others will eventually turn once all the evidence comes out, as it surely will, albeit without a great deal of effort seeing as to how efficient his minions, including his wife, have been at destroying evidence. Remember too that the Independent Council law, as onerous as it is, was created by the Democrats and renewed by Clinton early on in his first term. It's disingenuous for anyone to suggest the law was created exclusively to pursue truth and justice equally...it was to hound and punish the 'wascally' Republicans because they are evil, favor the rich, want to take SS away from old people (or, better yet, want them to die as Mike McCurry said), want to take school lunches away from your children, and want to control what you do in the bedroom, etc, etc, on and on ad nauseum. Can we forget too the $100 million Lawrence Walsh spent over even more years than Starr in pursuing the evils (really, now!) of Republicans with much less to show for his efforts? Talk about partisan! He still talks with the vitriol spewing forth like foam at a sewage disposal plant. I too have mixed feelings but they are somewhat ameliorated by the facts-not of sex but of lying under oath in such a way that would land many people in jail-but not him? This is what must be so frustrating to his fellow Democrats and supporters-that for all the investigating by Starr in Whitewater, etc. the impeachable offenses come from a spin off from the main investigations that could have been completely avoided by Clinton telling the truth-something very hard for both he and Hillary to do. halfscot
