Hello Hitech, The minimum requirement is $15k. You can trade every day commission-free. The cut-off time / deadline is 10 minutes before market closes. Since it is mutual fund, its price is based on the market ( index ) closing price. Therefore, I do not care about the market action during the day, but I only spend the last 30 minutes ( before market closes ) to monitor the indices ( ie S&P 500, NDX, DOW, RUT..ETC ) to make BUY/SELL decision. If the market is strongly trending, I believe it is better to trade ( stay in ) for the intermediate-term trend ( 1-4 months ) and disregard the short-term trend ( few days - 2 weeks ) and treat it as market noise. I do not think short-term trading can outperform the intermediate-term trading when the market is strongly trending.
