Looking for input on short term MSFT direction:
Lackluster trading today and yesterday on low volume. No news to speak of. But I think we are in the calm before the storm. A buying opportunity? MSFT definitely in stock split range here, and the anti-trust case against MSFT is falling apart. Good news and volume will move the stock up rapidly as traders return from the Holidays, I think. But what is the direction -- I am wondering what the stock will do for the next 2.5 weeks or so.

I see the NASDAQ leadership (msft, csco, intc) moving sideways this week, with strong moves next week, and maybe the one following. When managers start to buy for next year, I figure MSFT will be an excellent one to pick up. Maybe MSFT can help its cause with some strong announcements, and a split?

What do other SI regulars think?

globex sp quotes

someone on some thread said not to pay them too much attention until a few hours before the open due to low volume in off hours. for example, sp futures were down big on sunday evening then up big right before the open monday.
