Almost every time I have shorted a stock on bad news, I get filled after a gap down and squeezed in the dead cat bounce. It got to the point where I won't short bad news any longer.

Anyone have a strategy to deal with that, apart from waiting until after the bounce and hoping the bad news will start to pull the stock down? Doesn't sound like a high percentage play unless you are short the stock before the bad news.

I will always remember the day RMDY opened down 10. That was sweet.
