Although a lot of the recent focus has been on the mine in Angola, it might be worth taking a look at the following website to remind ourselves that DMW also has mining interests in many other parts of the world too which are important and shows that the company is in no way a "one-horse wonder". On the contrary, their varied interests around the world are quite intriguing. 1) Northwest Territories: In 1996, DiamondWorks entered into an agreement with an arm's length private company, pursuant to which the private company and DiamondWorks agreed to combine their efforts to explore a project area that currently covers an area of approximately 136,574 acres and can be renewed annually and held for a maximum of three years. In addition, 15 claims were staked in January, 1997 that cover an additional area of 38,748 acres. DiamondWorks has been granted a 51% beneficial interest in all of the mineral rights and interests in the NWT Property, with a right to earn an additional 19% interest in any part of the NWT Property which the Company is entitled to designate as a "Project Area", by funding certain expenditure requirements pursuant to the terms of the agreement 2) China: The Company holds majority joint venture interests in five mineral exploration properties in the Yunnan Province of China, known as the Datong, Yuntong, Hongtong, Lutong and Huitong properties (collectively, the "China Properties"). The first four China Properties are held through Tun Resources Inc. ("Tun Resources") and the fifth is held through Yunnan Mining International Inc. ("Yunnan Mining"), both of which are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Company incorporated under the laws of British Columbia to engage in mineral exploration and development in China. 3) Other countries in Africa such as Lesotho: The Kao Property In March 1998, DiamondWorks secured an option to purchase a 100% interest in the high-grade portion of the Kao diamond pipe located in the Kingdom of Lesotho, Southern Africa. The Kao Property is approximately seven hectares in area and represents approximately 35% of a 19.8 hectare kimberlite pipe located in the District of Butha Buthe, Lesotho. Tumo Tulai, an individual residing in Maseru, Lesotho was granted the sole and exclusive right to prospect and mine for diamonds at the Kao Property pursuant to a 30-year lease granted by the Kingdom of Lesotho. The Kao Mining Lease came into effect on June 27, 1991 upon registration with the Registrar of Deeds of Lesotho. 4) Also Sierra Leone in Africa: While this mine has been shut down since June of 97 due to political unrest there, the mine still exists and is being guarded. It holds proven and probable reserves are estimated at 2.6 million carats, with an additional 1.9 million carats in inferred reserves. They also show some kind of interest in Venezuela, but I can't find any information on this yet. For further information on the above interests, go to diamondworks.com All the best! Kevin
