Here's a very misleading article about the death of the IC engine:

They don't tell you how much money Toyota is losing on the Prius, and the claim that microwave ovens were initially unreliable is poppycock. My parents first microwave, bought in the1970's, just "died" this year! GM is trying to prepare consumers for THEIR unreliable green cars (which shouldn't be hard for those who already own GM cars). I've never heard any stories about unreliable cell phones either. Avoid GM.

This article doesn't address the issue of obtaining methanol to power the fool-cell:

There are a lot of gas stations that don't sell diesel, much less sell methanol. A good comparison is the LPG cars. Some utilities have fleets of them, but they are all fueled at a station the utility builds just for that purpose.
