The information in that article is misleading at best. There are at least three solid disaster recovery solutions for NT Server.

I believe the Drive Image restore option we have been discussing falls into the "sector by sector" methodology that the author indicates will work properly. I do not agree with his "less-than-desireable" characterization.

It appears that there are several less-than-desireable 'solutions' for those needing a reliable backup/restore today. The first is to use a sector-by-sector backup and restore product, however this means taking down the server to restore even individual applications.

Sector by sector restore is exactly what I want for my own system.
