The linkage between NN and Siemens is a bigger deal than Bay/LU/ERICY and more difficult for an acquirer to replicate, given Siemens awesome international presence.

The Siemens/NN sales are 10/90 in favor of NN. TDM customers are NN's.

Have you followed up on the Ascend DS3 CFR failure? I've checked with several sources and been told they'll get the chips in a couple months, take a couple more to debug, and from there go into RBOC trials. It could be more than a year before they're shipping. I've also been told this is the single most important WAN card for the market today. NN is re-negotiating with a major RBOC based on these developments.

While you're checking on the above, you might ask your sources why NN and LU both have hiring freezes in place.

Regards,

Pat
