Jess the growth of asset backed securities has been a major factor in increasing the leverage in the financial system ( or house of cards-g-) The asset backed securities market is $3.7 Trillion vs the banking system of $4.3 trillion . BTW we have seen credit creation outside the banking system before in the 20's with broker call loans. Mike
