This poses a dichotomy for the US residents! The ones that had no losses to write off the gain on their Internet stocks want to sell on Jan 01 or later. Those that need the tax write off to offset losses sustained this year will sell now. The prolific fall of some of these stocks will possibly force more of the people who were going to sell after jan 01 to sell now, to preserve profits....sort of a self feeding degeneration of price!!
