Hi, Tom. Happy new year to you and all on this thread.

I spent the last four days with family in New York. Visited Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) for the first time. I am very impressed! Compared to the Empire State Building (ESB) I think the NYSE did a much better job entertaining their visitors, free of charge (the ESB charges $6 per visitor). Thanks to NYSE's self-directed educational program, my family now knows much more on what investing is about, in addition to witnessing the new year come in NY.

Checked news about China and Hong Kong, found this site:
english.cri.com.cn
the official Chinese Radio International online. I can refresh my Putonghua here, haha.

Richard

>Look for some real hard knocks to Brasil's Bovespa within a fortnight.

Do tell. I recently got back into Telebras on the reasoning that we're seeing a v-shaped Hang Seng redux.
