T gets approval to buy TCI. NO mention about open access. Will AOL be affected by this? I bet it will not.

HI Chimoy,

The imminent marriage between AOl and Netscape does not have relation to the sale or purchase of the stocks individually. You can sell your Netscape and buy AOL as these are two separate and unrelated transactions regarded by the tax accountant. Based on the information I am reading about tomorrow's historic action with AOL, I would feel more inclined to buy AOL before the close of market tomorrow. It should be real interesting monitoring the after hours activity on Thursday

It will be interesting to see if the last day of trading will give us a new year high for the Dow?????

Happy New Year and
Best Regards

Frank

1) Ratio is 1 NSCP for 0.45 of AOL share

2) Wash rule applies only when same security is involved. No fear if your dealing w/ both AOL & NSCP shares.

NSCP is valued at .45 not .43 shares of AOL. If you hold NSCP through to the culmination of the deal you will get .45 shares of AOL for each share of NSCP--NO MATTER WHAT THE PRICE OF NSCP. Right now NSCP is trading at a $3.97 discount to AOL.
