The bible was a coffee table book from the year 0000. The 'good' book doesn't talk about a lot of things, does that make them all less real to you? No Airplanes, no cars, doesn't mention driving anywhere..... It doesn't mention electricity, or nuclear weapons, does that mean they don't exist either. Gee, maybe not....Please don't take that to mean I don't believe in the bible, what I am saying is that the bible was written by man. Man has flaws, maybe he just forgot to mention it. Besides, separation of church and state means that the bible shouldn't be used to define anything in a court of law. I know, I know, Marriage? You never swore on a bible when you got your marriage certificate did you? I think it was just sign the check then go find a priest or judge.

Careful when citing the Holy Bible.

From The Small Catechism of Martin Luther it's clear the liar broke:

The Sixth Commandment
Traditional: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
BCP Traditional: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
BCP Contemporary: You shall not commit adultery.
Q. What does this mean?
A. We must respect and love God, so that our words and actions will be clean and decent and so that everyone will love and honor their spouses.

Eighth Commandment
Traditional: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
BCP Traditional: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
BCP Contemporary: You shall not be a false witness.
Alternative: You must not tell lies about your neighbor.
Q. What does this mean?
A. We must respect and love God, so that we will not deceive by lying, betraying, slandering or ruining our neighbors' reputations, but will defend them, say good things about them, and see the best side of everything they do.
