CompUSA apparently will report earnings on Jan 4th, which is almost a month ahead of regular schedule. It seems likely that earnings are good for them. For our part, we may be able to get an idea of iMac sales from their report on the eve of Steve's keynote.

In other options trade, spreading of long-term put options was notable in several technology issues, including Novell Inc.(Nasdaq:NOVL - news), Apple Computer (Nasdaq:AAPL - news), Compaq Computer (NYSE:CPQ - news) and Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news). Activity was concentrated in the January 2000 puts.

Hi Robert,

I play options a lot, but I don't understand the language here. What does 'spreading the long-term put options' mean.

TIA

Sam
