Portfolio.

Ron,

Here are my thoughts about selling everything and starting fresh next year...

I don't think it matters if we start out with $500,000 or the current balance of $834,019 since the percentage gain will be the same no matter what dollar amount we start with. We should do whatever lessens the bookkeeping on you. If it would be easier for you to start fresh, then we can mark all prices to the closing price tomorrow. Or if it is easier to just continue on without marking all prices to tomorrow's close, then we can do that. My only preference is to do whatever is easier on you. If we sell everything tomorrow and start off with $500,000 on January 1, 1999, then I will likely buy back my open positions, but in smaller quantities that are proportional to the smaller cash balance.

I echo Larry's comments about your unselfish giving on this and the other Z thread. We are all very grateful for your endless efforts in keeping up with the trades, posting the status, and sharing your thoughts on stock ideas. Thanks also for posting the end of year review. I know already that two of my trades this summer put a drag on the portfolio (VLSI and IRF), and I'm interested to see how things came out overall. All I can say is live and learn. Speaking of VLSI, I bought some today at 10 5/8 and it closed at 11...the chart looks good to me and I also like LSI.

Happy New Year to you and your family and the rest of the gang who make this thread a success for all of us.

Dan

AOL a double !!!

nice one Larry!!

I would vote for closing all positions and starting anew ...

would like new "picks" for us all to be able to start from

just a thought ...

just mention ... that ... even though ... selling for the Z ... sponsor ... may be "holding" in personal postfolio

then we could start out afresh with a brand new 500,000

portfolio is up over 60%
that is fabulous
congrats to all the sponsors ... it takes guts ... to post our "real" trades, in the timelyness that we do.

Good luck ... alll

in 1999!!!

love ya

maybe one too many, rusty nails tonite <gggg>

$500,000 for new year. sounds like we all we close out existing position by close tomorrow. So if we're up $334K for the year, then we should each get a nice check from Ron for our hard work. ggg. CONGRATS GANG. Lets have more contributors in 1999. REmember, this whole thing was started as a way of sharing ideas and helping each of us become better traders/investors. I have enjoyed posting and will continue to do so, and will limit my positions to a reasonable percentage of the Zportfolio. larry
