Jim, Check with the IRS. This may be one where we can collect the reward on tax scamsters if Dell is really not declaring the capital gains on their put speculations. BTW, corporate types at touty cos. will tell you whatever you want to hear.

jim, so, i can start a company, sell puts and never pay taxes? wow, what a great tax loophole! didn't realize the govt was so much kinder and gentler ;-)

this does not make intuitive tax sense at all. if it doesn't go down the income statement, it isn't taxed.
