Cisco eats the young. TB routing is good for the market. What is good for the market is good for CSCO (and INTC, and PMCS).

The problem is that CSCO's competitors are backing most of these startups, especially the ones that are promising. Intense competition will give CSCO hard times next year. The following startups are
pretty much ready with their products, and some are even been tested by large Service
Providers. They all have impressive products that are typically much better performance
and at a lower cost compared to csco. Note the big names tele com companies that are
backing up these startups, such as LU, NT and Ericsson. Interesting CSCO is not in
there. What this also means is that it will be extremely tough to buy these startups for
CSCO as the key competitors are with most of them. If these startups take mkt share
away as in GBit mkt, csco can be in pretty deep trouble come next year. Target of
around 50$ next year. all imo.

The problem with NetCore box is ATM + IP router. What is it? which
market it serves? What is the performance? If it serves in Carrier
market, does it have carrier class features?

If the box is used in ATM network, it needs to match up with ASND
carrier class ATM switch 550.

If the box is used in IP network as a router, it needs to be fully
compatiable with CSCO router.

I am skeptical about it survival in the market. I guess only time
will tell.

Cheers!
Mike
