Randi,

I believe there are studies now showing that grape juice does the same thing as red wine, so I don't think you need to drink red wine if you don't want to. Here's an article that says non-red wine and beer can create the same benefit as red wine. It also says grape juice is good:
healthcentral.com

It seems to me that I've seen a more recent study touting the benefits of grape juice, but maybe I'm wrong.

A recent Science News (weekly digest) article said indications were that red grape juice would do the job. Red grapes too, probably. I have read that white wine has some of the same effect but not as much, and beer not at all.

I would stick to either the purple/red grapes, the juice of same, or the red wines.

Actually, I would bet that a *lot* of the grapes would be best - because of the fiber and the replacement of cholesterol and fat in the diet in addition to the effect of the grapes (or their skins, maybe, if one article was right.) Plus a vitamin C-E-beta carotene combination will help a lot.

good luck,
Chaz
