More than 50 percent of the proceeds raised in 1998 came from the 10 largest offerings. Nine deals exceeded $1 billion, including a record-setting $4.4 billion October debut from DuPont (DD) oil subsidiary Conoco (COC). In contrast, 1997 saw no billion-dollar deals. cbs.marketwatch.com

I'm still disappointed by my rush to purchase :( and the fact a dividend has not been announced? I think? Haven't really checked. On the other hand, I still like STA, TWA, and TTX as plays for the year 2 thousand. Never saw the quick run-up in STA? By the time I caught it, it was back to 3 1/4, so I short a thousand shares for a quick buck. Wanted to cover 12/30, but profit would have been for this year. I'll lookat it Monday and if it's still down, I'll cover and wait for better place to buy more. Have 2000 TWA, 1000 STA so far. Will buy 5000 shares TTX on Monday or should I say, I'll place 500 share lot orders, one at a time for the 7/8 being asked. To me they are pretty safe bets for the coming year and expect one to be amonst the top ten gainers of the new year. Why, internet shirts are hot items and have been given away free for some time. Who will want to take a ride in the new 2000 short range airplanes? I'll will, becuae the flights will be cheap and quick. Airports are expanding and building new ones along 95 to FL. TWA will be there. Another USAirways on the mend IMO. STA sports programs will be smooth as wistle for the coming year or 99 and 2000 for sure IMO. The thing with TTX is-they have been giving away inventory to ge the word out on internet address on t-shirts and giving the stuff away. I wore my Techstocks.com to Kennedy Space Center. Young and old were asking about site and kids wanted one. I do expect to see the stores soon for summer and Tultex is one of the better ones. Happy New Year, Larry Ken
